Keep the Quote
On Monday we'll start a "Keep the Quote" wall. Students are invited to bring in a quote on Mondays revolved around: teamwork, work ethic, determination, friendship, etc! Whomever's quote is chosen, they will choose a classmate on Friday who really shined to the theme of our quote. This is not a must-do, but instead a can do!

We´ve Got S.W.A.G!
Today I asked the class, ¨What is swag?¨ A general consensus was ´cool´. We decided, as a class we are going to focus on having 4th grade S.W.A.G everyday. We needed a little boost, a push, something to get us in the ¨we are a team mindset.¨ We brainstormed what our focuses should be and what each letter could stand for. At the end of everyday we´ll reflect on our day and decide if we ALL showed SWAG. If so, weĺl earn a SWAG sticker. If not, weĺl discuss what we can change for the next day. Our first goal is 6, then weĺl bump it up. Once we hit our goal of SWAG stickers, we will decide on a SWAG celebration! The letters S.W.A.G will be displayed in our classroom as a reminder throughout each day. We are a team, Iḿ not the coach, Iḿ part of the team...weŕe all in this together!

Addition...Old School Style!
When introduced to the "stacking method" the students told me it was the "parent's way!" Love it. Well we will now be focusing on addition/subtraction by solving with the traditional algorithm. They will be watching this as an assignment, so please feel free to view it also to understand what we're doing right now!

Check It Out!
What better way to show we know the expectations than a green screen, student directed video!
